This award winning documentary by the late Hollywood director Aaron Russo has caused  huge controversy all around the world. He blows the lid on how the central banking system operates and how millions of Americans are duped every year into paying income tax. He exposes the criminals at the top who run the system behind closed doors, while the politicians are merely puppets in the game. How the vast majority of people are economic slaves to a system they are not even aware of.

This internationally acclaimed documentary has reverberated all around the world as the same systems are in place worldwide. There will be an extra introductary clip describing how this documentary relates to the banking and taxation system in Ireland.

Eco Non-violence workshop in October

A residential workshop with Joanne Sheehan organised by INNATE (see www.innatenonviolence.org) taking place at Kilcranny House, Coleraine, Friday evening at 4pm to Saturday at 5pm, 3rd and 4th October 2008

Minimum fee*: £35 waged individual/£25 unwaged (or € equivalents)

The ecological crisis, and the many, disparate, green/ecological/environmental issues which are of concern, affects us all deeply and may be catastrophic for the poor of the world. How we can further our campaigns and the wider cause is the purpose of this workshop, using the skills and experience of Joanne Sheehan as facilitator (see biographical note below).  This is also a networking opportunity in two senses – bringing some of the experience from the peace and nonviolence movement and wider campaigning, plus networking between individuals from diverse geographical and campaign areas.  The focus is very firmly on ‘Eco’ nonviolence though anyone interested in nonviolent campaigning and strategising is welcome.  We will be aiming for around 25 participants.

Booking forms are available from INNATE, e-mail innate@ntlworld.com and phone 028 (North) / 048 (Republic) 90 64 71 06, postal address 16 Ravensdene Park, Belfast BT6 0DA; queries can be made to the same contacts.  *The fee set is minimal to encourage participation and, if people or organisations can afford it, we would ask for a further contribution towards Joanne’s expenses.

Joanne Sheehan:  Joanne Sheehan has been an organizer and nonviolence trainer for 35 years. She is presently on the staff of War Resisters League’s New England Regional Office and is the past Chair of War Resisters International.
She has been involved in numerous nonviolent campaigns against war, nuclear power and weapons on a local, regional and national and international level. Joanne is a nonviolence trainer who emphasizes strategy development. She is an author of numerous articles on active nonviolence,  and is a co-editor of War Resisters International’s Handbook for Nonviolent Campaigns (to be published in September, a web version is available at http://www.wri-irg.org/wiki/index.php/Nonviolent_Handbook ). Joanne has been active with the War Resisters International for 25 years, working with war resisters and nonviolence trainers from around the world. She has facilitated workshops throughout the US, and in Ireland, the Netherland, Turkey, India, Thailand, Norway, Brazil, and England.
