Elaine Bradley

Elaine is the Executive Director of Irish Seed Savers Association, Ireland’s leading NGO for the conservation of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture. Elaine’s main professional focus is strategic development and change management: organising for justice and sustainability. Elaine is passionate about nature, the environment and sustainable food systems in the wider context of fair and equal societies.  An academic and veteran human rights activist, Elaine has worked extensively in Ireland and Palestine on justice issues.

Maria Cullen

Maria Cullen

Maria Cullen serves on the boards of Irish charities, The Organic Centre and Woodlands of Ireland and she is currently Vice President of the Irish Geological Association. As a geologist and biologist, Maria has worked in Ireland and overseas on botanical and mycological biodiversity surveys, woodland management and policy, research on the impacts of air pollution, taxonomic education, museum curation, fungal genetics and plant/tree health. Maria’s primary degree is in Natural Sciences and she carried out postgraduate research in geochemistry and an M. Sc. in Mycology.

Gary Dempsey

Gary is an accountant and works in BNY Mellon. He trained in practice and has vast
experience in financial reporting, management accounting, auditing and taxation.

Tad Kirakowski 

Tad Kirakowski is the CEO of VOICE Ireland. Joinign in 2017 he has led engagement projects as well as research and policy work examining waste reduction in Ireland and internationally. Tad supports a team in VOICE advocating for policies that reduce our impact on the environment through the stuff we use. Tad has a degree in Environmental science and a masters in Environmental Law. Tad has worked and volunteered across a number of environmental NGOs, and can generally be found out and about running, walking, swimming in Cork.

Nuala Madigan

Chair

Nuala Madigan is the Chief Executive Officer with the Irish Peatland Conservation
Council (IPCC) and has worked with the IPCC for over eighteen years.   During this time Nuala has worked across all aspects of the Council’s initiatives to conserve a
representative sample of Irish peatlands from peatland education, species and habitat
monitoring, site management and conservation, policy development and organisational
management.  Nuala holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and Environmental Science and a Masters degree in Education.

Dermot Tynan

Dermot Tynan is Chair of the Rise Foundation and a senior engineer at Google in
Dublin. His focus is on corporate governance. Dermot is an avid sailor and passionate about the environment, especially the marine environment.

Hans Zomer

Hans Zomer is CEO of GAP Ireland, leading a team of professionals dedicated to inspiring practical action for a sustainable future. An experienced communicator and NGO leader, he previously served as spokesperson for President Michael D. Higgins and as  CEO of Dóchas. Hans is driven by a profound interest in social and political change, and the steps each of us can take to change behaviour and policies to build a better world. His approach is based on a conviction that information and communication are crucial to accomplishing our goal: In order to make the changes we need, we need  high quality analysis and a good understanding of the impact of our actions and habits, as well as the occasional word of encouragement.
